Maintenance & Cleaning

Teak
Teak is a premium hardwood known for its durability, natural resistance to moisture, and ability to withstand harsh
weather conditions. Its high oil content prevents warping, cracking, and decay, making it ideal for outdoor furniture.
Over time, teak develops a beautiful silver-gray patina while maintaining its structural integrity.

Polyurethane Finishes
Outdoor Teak products finished in a multi-step polyurethane protective coat are an industry standard designed to
protect against harsh weather, UV rays, and moisture. All wood products should be stored in a dry, covered area, or
the use of covers is recommended. Damaged finishes may be lightly sanded. To extend the life of your finish,
water-based polyurethane sealants may be applied to PU finished products.
Outdoor Teak products in a natural finish are often protected by a water-based polyurethane that helps preserve the
original finish of the wood. If the protective finish is not maintained through periodic reapplication, the teak will
gradually weather, developing a natural silver-gray patina over time.

Care & Maintenance

  • Clean regularly with mild soap and water using a soft cloth, wiping in the direction of the grain.
  • If left uncovered, teak will naturally weather to a silver-gray patina.
  • Avoid pressure washing and harsh chemicals, as they can damage the surface.
  • Avoid extended periods of direct sun or rain to prevent fading and weathering.
  • To preserve the original finish, store it in a dry area or use protective covers when not in use
